The grapes are sourced from El Coto's Finca Carbonera estate, at 875 metres above sea level, making it the highest vineyard in Rioja. A wide diurnal range aids the slow steady ripening of the grapes, meaning they retain fresh acidity and delicate aromatics. Fermentation took place at 16ºC in 100% new, untoasted, French oak barriques. After fermentation, bâtonnage was carried out to enhance the wine’s rich texture. The wine was aged for 10 weeks in oak after fermentation. Ripe citrus and stone fruit with hints of brioche and a creamy mouthfeel.
