About
Family-owned, 18Ha organic estate near the town of Bellmunt del Priorat in the south of the DOQ at an altitude of +1,000m; the vineyards are planted on classic, steep Licorella (slate) slopes (Costers) with pockets of alluvial clay over granite. With vines aged up to 80 years old and yields naturally limited to 2,500kg/ha the grapes are harvested by hand in 18kg boxes and transferred to 10,000Ltr stainless steel vats for fermentation. The Garnatxa and Cariñena grapes are fermented separately and, after a malolactic fermentation using indigenous bacteria, the wines are then aged separately in 300Ltr French oak barrels for 12 months before blending
