About
The Aragón family has made wine for as long as they can remember. Although Cillar de Silos was founded in 1994, Amalio Aragón had already begun buying small plots with high quality vines, and was patiently waiting for the right moment to complete his dream of becoming a winery owner. Nestled in the heart of Castille, Ribera del Duero, the wines are finely crafted but demonstrably Spanish. The estate’s philosophy can be summed up just a few words: purity, fruit, low yields, long ageing and hand selection. Recently they’ve expanded outside of their comfort zone into pastures new, with a small project in Arlanza, Haciena del Carmen. In these new, loft vineyards, the family produces a voluptuous, aromatic white (Ribeiro) and a perfumed, racy red (DO Arlanza).
